Has anyone tried this? I’ve noticed that most of the news that comes out heavily influences some stocks, especially oil. Each time a ceasefire happens, or something similar, the price of oil drops because of reduced demand. The opposite happens when there are more attacks. In many cases like this, the oil price moves in response to the news. This also applies to commodities such as gold. It seems like free money if traded properly in my opinion. If you also rely on fundamentals, technicality in combination of news/sentiment.
In currencies specifically EUR/USD you see the same thing. I haven't been able to figure it out because sometimes it goes the other direction that I anticipated. I feel the time we get the news it's too late to act on it, it has already made it's moved. It's probably why we are in this war for the ultra rich to get richer on inside knowledge of what's happening.
The Yen is at a 40 year low and keeps dropping. I have a lot success shorting the yen. Just look at the USD/JPY it just keeps climbing. The Bank of Japan raised it's benchmark rate to 1% but it remains much lower the the US Federal Reserve which ranges between 3.5 to 3.75. So you can borrow cheap yen to invest in higher yielding dollar.

I agree. The Bank of Japan has long been one of the most interventionist central banks. They’ve also tolerated a weaker yen to stay competitive with China on exports. But when USD/JPY moves too far, they can step in very aggressively, so I wouldn’t assume the trend will always continue.
