(No advertisement - (free)) I built Utify, free open-source privacy utilities, works on Safest (no JS)

Utify is a collection of small utilities: EXIF viewer, image metadata stripper, file hashing (SHA-256/512, MD5 for legacy checksums), password/passphrase generators, entropy checker, token/UUID generators, Base64, URL encode, JSON formatter, JWT decoder, QR generator, case converter. More coming.

How it handles the JS question, since that’s what actually matters here, every tool declares one of three modes, printed right on its card:

• Text tools run entirely in your browser with JS on. With JS off (Safest), the same form posts to the server, the identical function runs in memory, result comes back in the page. Nothing stored, nothing logged.

• File tools are client-side only. If JS is off they refuse and tell you why — I’m not offering a “just upload it briefly” fallback for your files, ever. Use exiftool locally if you won’t enable JS, fair enough.

• QR generation is server-rendered SVG so it works with zero JS.

Don’t take any of that on trust. It’s fully open source: github.com/utifytor/utify — the server path and the browser path import the same functions from one file (lib/compute.ts), so you can read exactly what happens to your input in either mode, or build and run your own copy. AGPL, so anyone running a modified version has to publish their changes.

No ads, no analytics, no accounts, no trackers, no webfonts, no third-party requests of any kind. I’ve tried to keep everything understandable with plain descriptions on each tool, privacy notes stating exactly where your data goes, and a link to that tool’s source on every page.

This is an early prototype. ~14 tools work now; checksum verifier, PDF metadata removal, image converter, diff, QR reader and more are on the list. If there’s a utility you keep wishing existed on an onion, tell me here or open an issue requests are welcome, that’s the point of building it in the open, and yes if some people say its useless they have these utilites already then that's understandable but its more accessible for newer users and all in one place.
