Should I start doing freelance web development in 2026 in a high-cost country?

I am thinking of maybe doing freelance web development, however, I have not completed my CS degree, and have no programming job experience. Plus, why would they hire me, a human in a high-cost country when they can either make an AI do most of the work for free (or relatively cheaply) or hire someone from a 3rd world country like India or Pakistan?
