This is when a Market or Vendor decides to quit and want to make some extra cash on the way out.

Markets do this by blocking Vendors' access to their funds. You, the Buyer can continue to order and pay for the product but the money goes into the Markets account.

Vendors take orders and don't ship them.

You can minimize the likely hood of this happening by going to DarknetAustralia and the Market sub to look for any reports of scams before you make a purchase.

This cuts the Market scamming window to a few hours and the Vendor scamming window to a few days.

It's impossible to eliminate Exit scams. Never spend more than you can afford to lose on a Darknet Market.

This is when you get a link from somewhere other than the official Market sub on tforum and arrive at a duplicate Market.

It will look exactly like the market you think you're on. All your favorite vendors and products will be there.

They'll take your order but it won't ever get processed.

This is when someone offers to sell you something via DM.

This violates the site rules and you'll get instantly banned and reported if you do it to me or any other mod.

Vendors are not going to risk this. Scammers are the only people who will contact you this way.

Avoid using Client-side encryption because there may be decryption with a server-side private key. When you send data to a market in clear text they keep it in a database.

If they find an address they'll use this to blackmail you, trade for a reduced sentence if they get busted, or sell to other criminals as a list of dumb people who'll fall for an obvious scam.

This is a list you never want to be on.

If you expect to be able to get an order delivered overnight because that's how long the last one took you're going to be disappointed.

I've used the wrong encryption key. Parcels have been delivered to the wrong addresses.

Vendors have run out of stock and wanted to do a substitute product. Parcels have taken weeks to arrive.

If you allow 2 weeks from order placed to delivery you'll rarely be disappointed.

1 Create a read only text file with your address in this format

2 Do your first transaction when you're not too wasted.

3 Never rush a purchase. You'll make mistakes. Start looking a couple of days before you intend to make the purchase.

4 Place your order 2 weeks before you need the product. If it hasn't arrived after a week ask the Vendor for tracking.

Depending on what the tracking says if you want to be certain of getting something for a special occasion place an order with a different Vendor.

This is not recommended except when you've got Calvin Harris tickets and your MDMA is lost in the mail.

5 Work out how much you can lose without becoming homeless. Half of that is the maximum you can spend on a purchase.

You WILL get scammed if you're buying on the Darknet for long enough.

Don't be homeless because of a scammy vendor or market.

6 Check /d/Reviews and see if there are any recent reviews for the product you're looking at buying

7 Check /d/DarknetMarkets Vendors or Markets that are scamming.

8 Check the market sub for scammers, /d/Abacus has the most Aussie Vendors. What do I out here for US/EU?

9 Use the Markets sub for a link to the Market

10 Enable 2FA and a and a Pin if you haven't.

11 When you've decided what you want to buy check the Vendor's market reviews and make sure some are recent.

12 Check the last online time for the vendor and make sure he's been online in the last 24 hours.

13 Look for the On Vacation button.

14 Check the Vendor returns policy. This is what the market will enforce. If you don't like it choose another vendor.

15 Look at the shipping options. If it's available, standard mail is the safe choice. If you followed 3 & 4 standard mail will get to you on time.

16 You're now ready to order your product. Get your Monero from LocalMonero.

17 Never use market encryption. They'll add you to a list of other dumb people they will scam at a later date.

18 Don't try and type your name and address or Monero wallet addresses or amounts. Anywhere you can copy-paste information do it.

Use the read only file for your address.

19 Check your order in 24 hours to make sure the vendor has accepted it. If he has note the auto finalize date and set an alarm on your phone to remind you.

20 Check to see if there are any messages from the vendor. It's easy to use the wrong encryption key or he might be sold out of the product you want.

21 If your package hasn't arrived by the time your alarm goes off extend the finalize date and notify the vendor. He should provide you with tracking details at this point.

22 If the vendor doesn't respond within 48 hours with tracking numbers message him that you'll start a dispute in 24 hours if you don't get the tracking numbers.

23 If the vendor doesn't respond start the dispute and look at placing an order with another vendor.
