Oh I have that - gonna wait for the hiddenvm release for TAILS 5.2 (I already have a .OVA file for Whonix-FXCE as well) - I could do that one of these days (when I have a lot of time on my hands). I know all I need to do now is set an admin password and I'm good to go.

Hey I'm now actually working on getting HiddenVM working in TAILS - but for some reason I keep getting this error "Unable to locate package linux-headers-5.10.0-15-amd64" - how can I remedy this issue? Do I need to get the recent HiddenVM AppImage (despite that I already have one for TAILS 5.1.1).

Get the AppImage. It seems that OMV is running in a QEMU VM.

You need to get to backports and on Tails it's a fight.

$ apt list --installed *linux-headers*

linux-headers-5.10.0-0.bpo.12-amd64/buster-backports,now 5.10.103-1~bpo10+1 amd64 [installed,automatic]

linux-headers-5.10.0-0.bpo.12-common/buster-backports,now 5.10.103-1~bpo10+1 all [installed,automatic]

linux-headers-amd64/buster-backports,now 5.10.103-1~bpo10+1 amd64 [installed]

Give me a step by step. I am very confused (this is my first time dealing with such an issue). And I understand why they're using QEMU - Virtualbox has (apparently) been known to have "issues"). Please and thanks.

Switch out of Tails and into ParrotOS Security Edition. Tails is rigged not to be altered.

run

uname -r

what do you get?

Hey, solved the problem. My Hidden VM version was just "out of date". Just added 1.26.1 and now it works like a charm. Already got the Whonix OVF file. Ready to now start putting Whonix on there.

WELL now I've run into another snag - so now that I have managed to fire up HiddenVM after changing the .zip file apparently EVEN THOUGH I managed to even get Whonix on there - I just can't fire up the Whonix Gateway (though I might one of these days test out if the Whonix Workstation works - which I hypothesize, or at least assume, that it would work (because there's already TOR via KALI so it wouldn't require The Gateway - but honestly it should be able to run the Gateway just as well).
