End to end ecrypted messages.
No Phone number required to register an account. You can register using a VPN the entire usage time.
only downside is USA based, so might be corrupted to be backdoored.
I hope it's open source... Might be a good alternative to Signal.

zangi doesn't have any public repositories yet.
I think I'll pass. I guess no SIM makes it somehow better than Telegram but E2EE over a non open-source application is a big no for me.
I remember hearing that it was used to livestream a murder, so it's becoming popular among gangs. But they don't have anyone backing them, unlike Signal, which has undergone several audits to earn that reputation, and Signal is also open source, while Zangi is not.
Someone should ask, if Zangi is fully open source. and post results here.
I think your question also needs your use case, literally just use any messenger with PGP/GPG encryption and you'll be fine. They wont be able to break the encryption anytime soon. If you're doing something less than legal and want to be a bit more paranoid, just use simpleX chat, signal or run your own XMPP service software and use PGP/GPG within that.
