It’s best on the 43x where the COA really stands out. With the 19 you have better options for optics.

Do you dislike the 43x itself, or just don’t like the COA on the 43x?

I got a 43x COA and started carried it instead of my 19.5 I had been carrying for years, and I was definitely disappointed when I first shot it. I couldn’t get a good purchase on the pistol, my draws were incredibly slow and I shot it terribly. Also the trigger was dog shit from the factory. Significantly worse than my factory 19.5 trigger.

I replaced the factory trigger shoe with an Overwatch Precision PolyDat and OEM NP3’ed internals, and now the trigger is probably better than the factory trigger on my 19.5. It’s not like some crazy race gun trigger. It’s basically just what the 43x trigger should’ve been.

What helped with shooting/drawing the most for me was a beavertail. That helped me immensely. It gave me a good index for drawing and getting a consistent grip. I also have grip tape and put a weapon light on (TLR7 HLX Sub). The weapon light helps a bit by giving me a sort of thumb rest. The weight of the light also probably helps with keeping the muzzle down, but it’s not necessary.

Now after a ton of dry fire and a few hundred rounds of live fire I shoot the 43x probably only slightly worse than my 19.5. It’s a more difficult pistol to shoot so it takes a lot more practice, but that’s a trade off I’m willing to take for the smaller and easier to carry pistol. Anyways that’s been my experience.
