What is drop shipping in the context of the DNMs? What does it entail?
I often hear it used negatively ("VendorX just drop ships the product of VendorY") here on tforum. Maybe some people are using it wrong or maybe I'm misunderstanding, but some seem to think it means:
"VendorY buys a ton of product from VendorX then resells it as his own, at a slightly increased price or by offering only smaller quantities. The distinction being selling it as his own. VendorY may cut it, or rebrand it, or make false claims about it. VendorY dishonestly makes money by relisting VendorX's product, basically stealing his business."
My understanding of drop shipping in the real world is,
"VendorX does not stock any product, he markets and sells the product of VendorY, with VendorY's permission, then sends the orders to VendorX for fulfillment."
Which is it?
Good question. As you say, I always assumed it meant the latter. I didn't realise people might be using it in the first scenario, which to me is a very different thing
If you ask me, I’d avoid buying from dropshippers. You’re often dealing with a middleman who doesn’t hold the inventory and has limited control over quality, stock, shipping, and customer service. My advice: always try to buy directly from the actual vendor.
yea some vendors seek to sell to other vendors, bulk transfer so they dont have to deal with shipping small amounts out frequently.
others just want to give normal shoppers a reason to use them, maybe they specialize in speeds/stims and want to offer a few benzo options - they might buy bulk from a vendor and start listing that product next to theres.

just order domestically or at least from the closest country to yours, even if its more expensive

Most concerning is the meth trade, which has enormous price drops these days for larger quantities. If a source of real quality appears, other vendors will buy pounds, cut and rerock or simply resell small quantities at source price or lower. This is bad for the source because the barnacles soak up his stock at bulk prices and take his small quantity business (where any real money is made). Eventually source says it's not worth the risk teo break even. Quality disappears.

I agree with your advice wholeheartedly, I will deal with the source even if the price is higher.. if I know who the actual source is.
But how does one know who the actual source is? There is no master list that I've seen, and I have never seen an obvious dropshipper say "I am a dropshipper for <vendorY>" on a listing. In fact I often see obvious drop shippers say "I am the source" in listings. Particularly with pressed addy, benzos and MDMA.
Complicating that is that there ARE identical presses out there, but not every vendor presses ethically. Then those presses are dropshipped and... you see the mess.
The sources I know of I've discovered through bloodhounding, ordering small quantities at first and interacting with every vendor beyond the sale.
