ALPRs: Tracking Your Every Move

Have you heard about ALPRs? They're Automated License Plate Readers and they're everywhere now.

There is a local town in Massachusetts called Salem. It's where the
witches are from. Just lookup the Salem Witch Trials and all that jazz.

This little town in Salem, just north of Boston, has decided to switch
their ALPRs from a company that sells data to one that lets the city
retain the data. But that's not the point. Read closely at this letter:

ALPRs in Salem are currently installed at ingress and egress points to the city and at several high traffic intersections

This means they aren't only on cop cars. Cities and towns all over the
country are tracking every single vehicle that enters or exits the
community in real time, 24x7x365.

Chew on that for a while. Operational security isn't just about deciding
about using Talis or Qubes with your rotating MAC address. You have to
consider who is looking for you or at you in every single aspect of your
entire life. At all times. In every moment.

Supermarket near me has them at it's car park exit. How the data collected is used, I do not know.

Saw a video yesterday of someone that
walked up to a electric speed sign the cops out on the side of the road
that shows your speed. So coming at it you see your speed, going past it
the back side had a flock camera in it.

people started knocking flock cameras down so they began putting them in speed signs and other traffic markers.

Surveillance is 100% now for many and
has been for some time. If you have a phone it's a tracking collar. If
you have an auto every move by it is tracked. If your phone is paired to
your auto, well, it's not a stretch. Everyone is tracking you so be
safe out there.

Wait until they're the size of buttons..

Deflock.me has an app now that allows
you to set a navigation route on a phone or pc that avoids all Flock
cameras. It's configurable and uses OSM for the maps, so just as
effective as Google. I don't think they retain data, either, but still
worthwhile to consider OPSEC.

That said, it's a moral imperative that these cameras be deactivated, destroyed or removed by vigilantes. Do your civic duty.
