DarkSearch has just turned one year old! It’s been an incredible journey, and I want to take a moment to reflect on our progress and future goals for the next year!
What We Set Out to Do
When DarkSearch launched, our primary aim was to create a search engine that not only enables users to explore the vast world of .onion sites but also filters out unwanted content and scams. Navigating the darknet can be daunting, and we wanted to provide a safer and more reliable experience for the users around darknet.
Key Milestones
• Initial Launch: We went live with a clean and user-friendly interface, enabling quick access to relevant .onion sites. Under beta version, search engine was simple, and along the time we integrated new features to echance our service such as user registration, user/site profiles, OMG compliance, official sources, rating and reviews.
• Content Filtering: By implementing advanced filtering algorithms, we successfully minimized exposure to phishing, scams, CASM content, and other malicious sites, making it easier for users to find legitimate resources. Indexed sites are manually approved by human operators after our LLM processed it, so scams will not bypass.
• User Feedback: We actively engaged with our user community, gathering feedback and suggestions that have led to significant improvements in search accuracy and functionality. On the last update, we integrated user registration, site profiles, reviews and rating between other things and right now we have +10k registered users.
• Expanded Indexing: Over the past year, we expanded our database, indexing thousands of new sites, and improving content relevancy. The actually stats are +300 indexed sites and +900 blacklisted sites. Might not be high numbers, but we always choose quality between quantity and down sites are just archivied in our database.
Challenges Faced
Evolution of DarkSearch hasn’t been without challenges. We has been working on this project daily, and we dealt with issues related to a few points described below:
• Phishing and Scams: We receive tons of phishing links every month, and we get in touch with site operators such as DNM admins and vendors to warning them about it and letting them know that we are blacklisting that phishing sites. Scammers don't sleep, and they are trying always index sites on DarkSearch, even after they get blacklisted several times using other domains. At this point, we are thinking on integrate a search filter to be also able to see scam sites (when turned off) so we can mitigate scams and phishing as a better way. If we integrate this feature, anyone will be able to identify scams and phishing easily and scammers will stop bother us.
• Maintaining Security: Ensuring user privacy and security remained a top priority as we developed new features. We have not suffered any relevant incidents around this time, but we stay vigilant to prevent any hacking attemps taking care about security as high priority, and performing security checks in regular basis along the time.
• Combating Misinformation: Contending with the spread of false information on the darknet while striving to provide accurate search results. That's the reason we created site profiles, linking sites with official sources and including PGP keys, mirrors and signatures for indexed sites, taking special caution with DNMs and vendors.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re more committed than ever to enhancing DarkSearch along the next year. Below, we will describe the most relevant points:
• Upcoming Features: We’re working on introducing user personalization options and even more robust filtering capabilities. Right now, our LLM is working to analyze sites, link official sources, and improve the search algorithm but our model is not working directly on the search engine. We plan to improve our servers and integrate our LLM directly on the search engine, so at this way, every query will be processed by our LLM. This will be added as premium feature, and we are already working on it.
• Community Engagement: Expanding our presence in forums and communication channels to foster a more interactive community around darknet exploration. Jumping to other communities will help to bring more users to DarkSearch, and that will also increse our transparency as an trustworthy community driven project.
• Clearnet Domain: We will introduce DarkSearch to clearnet on January 1, 2026 to start a big SEO campaign and increase our web traffic. Definitely, this point will make DarkSearch well-known around the world, introducing new people to the darknet and increasing our traffic. Clearnet launch with be announced in tforum and Pitch.

Can you further explain the reasoning and benefits for going to clearnet? Seems incredibly inviting for noobs and scammers to start infiltrating our community
Moving to the clearnet will enhance accessibility and attract a broader audience. Newbies are always welcomed, they can get introduced on tforum and learn. Scammers will be always around, and we must face it. Is not all about numbers, our main goal is also to empower users while ensuring a safe environment.
