I need to start Hidden Service, and I wanted to ask how best to do this? Initially, I considered the VPS rental option, for example Njalla - for Monero. However, I also have an alternative idea to launch it on a laptop or another PC on which Linux will be installed and Whonix virtual machines will be launched, so basically I will set the Hidden Service on Whonix and in fact the server of my site will work in my physical access.
What are the ideas and tips? What are the pros and cons of each option? And if you choose an option with Whonix, are there any additional and not obvious security tips?
If you host it on your home network then you have to deal with power/WiFi outages and someone on your network can find your site easily. You should use a VPS because they don't have much downtime. But i wouldn't use Njalla, it's kind of overpriced and there's way cheaper alternatives for the same specs and privacy.
Yeach, I also think that Ninjalla is overhyped, but I can't find good alternatives, 1984hosting sounds great for anon hosting but it also has a lot of stuff that I don't like, mb u know some alternatives?
Do not use Njalla, it is a joke of a "bulletproof" hoster, they have become soft. Use alternative like the zservers dot ru. Pay in bitcoins you exchanged from XMR. Do not host from physical access anything that is staying up for more than one week.
Just use VPS that accept bitcoin and thats enough. nothing is bulletproof
