Best *current platforms for darknet comms

Hey! I'm looking for recommendations on platforms/services to use for darknet comms. I know the basics (PGP, Tor, etc) but I'm curious about what people are actually using these days for group chats, comms in general and file sharing. Thanks!

SimpleXchat can be used for darknet comms and there's onion file share

Simplex is probably the easiest.

I'd consider XMPP the best option.
