Sounds awesome. The unique big problem I see is that most of the Android phone have this survillance OS. Probably changing to a GrapheneOS helps a bit more.

There's the issule of locking the bootloader. Any custom ROM you would recommend for those who don't own a Pixel?

If you want to relock the bootloader, the AOSP build you installed must be signed with keys that the bootloader recognizes as trusted.

You can use privately generated keys to sign your AOSP build and relock the bootloader, but this depends on whether your device's bootloader is configured to accept those keys as trusted.

Most stock bootloaders are designed to trust only the manufacturer’s signing keys.

There are some devices with more developer-friendly bootloaders but I am out of that loop from some time and I cannot recommend models.

The other option is to use custom recovery like TWRP but that is at the expense of security.

There is Lineage, e/OS and others as ready solutions and they are somewhat degoogled but not fully.

Hardly anything up there with Graphene if we are talking about a ready solution I am afraid.
