Try OpenResty, based on Nginx

Also the new Cuddy server is coming up fast, and is super modular

Nginx is just an overall better product.

Not much of a developer, so take my comment with a pound of salt. However I have used both Nginx and Apache in the past. Nginx by leaps and bounds feels like the better choice. Lightweight and a bit more secure by default.
