Facts. But I think I came to the conclusion that people who are not really dumb still say this, just so that newcomers don't ruin their OpSec because they configured something wrong in their first hop (being the VPN). I think that's really the whole reason. Because you can fuck up a lot more with chaining a VPN than by just using Tor as is.

Yes exactly, but what I meant is there is way more shit to fuck up then just using straight up Tor. As in, you need to do like 5-10 minutes of research which most people in my TikTok brainrotted generation can't do or doesn't have capacity. So just telling them "Use Tor and don't use VPN with it" is easier as there is less potential to fuck anything up lol. But you are fully right on this of course.
