Got a question, grateful for any insight anyone can provide. I have placed my fair share of orders, and it usually goes: I place the order, I wait a few days, my package get here, I finalize and review.. its all done up in less than a week, right? ok, so that's always how its gone until this month, when this chain of events started happening:
I place an order, I wait a week, no package...so I ask vendor for tracking. They send me a tracking number! I track it, says the info has been submitted to the shipper the day I placed an order, but vendor never put a package in the mail?? and I have to point this out to them before they actually send me my order?? Everything is fine with the order after that.
What in tarnation is this about??? its happened a couple times recently, different vendors...and I just don't even know what to think. Any ideas?
I feel there are some vendors who do label created and either accidentally or intentionally do not ship the package until pressed about it.
I don't use them again.
I don't use them again.
im not the vendor in question but i do know that a vendor can create a label without paying for it at checkout for USPS, this is when you see the label on your end of ID. Until the vendor actually checks out and drops the pack it will show as "Label Created" this does not mean sent.
people make mistakes so i wouldnt jump right to assuming he was trying to fuck you. ive had vendors short me 224g of coke but made it right because i was respectful when i questioned them about it
Yeah it of course depends on the vendor. Some are just notorious for creating labels and then not actually mailing them for a few days. If something came up, I could see that happening, and they should make you aware of that fact.
It's practically universally understood that once a vendor marks it ""shipped", that's a promise that they're dropping that pack at a post office or blue drop box within the next 24 hours. If they actually wait for you to contact them, and haven't said that this is how they operate in their bio, I'd not return, or at least let them know that you don't want to continue to be their customer and explain why.
Then again some print the labels and drop the packs off and a day or two goes by and that label never updates until the day you get it, and then it back-fills all the little stops and starts along the way, which can be unnerving but you have the pack so who cares? That's a post office glitch, not some secret move the vendor does. Although they may know that by dropping it directly at the transfer facility it somehow skips the scan and doesn't update until it lands in the recipient city's mail facility. I know one time a vendor who told me that's what happened when they mailed it that way.
Be grateful you have Informed Delivery! I recently moved from a rural location where I had ID to a major city apt but located in a house and there's NO INFORMED DELIVERY ! 😡 I tried customer service, the city address records department, nobody can help me or give me a good reason why.
The closest I got to an explanation was from a letter carrier who said "A lot of these apartments where it's a house that's been chopped up into 4 or 5 apts, they tend to be transient, or a lot of move in and outs in one year, (college town too) so that so many people are getting mail for the previous tenant that you end up seeing mail that may not belong to you" I said that sounds like bullshit. He said, "Well that's a better explanation than none" I disagree.
So be grateful. I've been ordering on these markets since Silk Road. You know how nooby I feel having to ask a vendor for a tracking number? I usually don't bother but sometimes it helps like when you're going away for the weekend and hope to get that pack beforehand. I digress.
. ~ Peace ~
