Why are there rules?

I'm kinda new here and I don't understand why there are rules in this place.

I thought dw forums like tforum are like tforum without rules, people making confessions, talking about the "cool" stuff.

But all I see is drugs.

rules are there to limit the *wanted state by the feds, if we were discussing openly how to cook glass, how to kill people..the feds would have rained hell on the founders.

Also the forum would be way messy without moderation

You can talk about cool stuff. What's a specific, cool topic that you can't share because of the rules?

The rules aren't that restrictive.

tforum is the drugs part of tforum who's overreaching rules were impossible to deal with, but yeah, mostly drugs. Some people like to go on about other topics, philosophy, hobbies, politics, etc. There's no rules against that.

There are, of course, two or three things you can't talk about that are universally taboo like CP, or bomb making I suppose, shit like that, but otherwise, name your poison, if it aint drugs, what tickles your fancy?

Read the site rules and sub rules then do some critical thinking as to why they exist.

What rules are you specifically against?

/d/confessions the rules are pretty reasonable except no weapons, and no on site transactions, also its not just about drugs, there are cool communities like /d/SimpleX /d/Laundromat /d/monero /d/OPSECINT and more

What is it you want to talk about that you're not seeing here?
