best anonymous OS for phone ?

true, I think they are more secure in the fact that the phone is stripped of most ways it could be detected/planted. I think the best thing is to just not have a phone and use voIP or other services on a secure computer. phones are portable tracking devices

GrapheneOS puts Play Services in a sand box to safely allow you to use things that may require Play Services (a bunch of shit) You can deGooglefy and download every Fossify application from F-Droid or another trustred repository but Graphene is the standard for mobille security. Keep in mind the phones it can be used on are expanding but are MAINLY Pixels.

GrapheneOS does not include any google services by default, you can also not have a sim card in it and physically remove the camera

you can buy android phones that physically don't come with the microphone, camera, sim card slot, fingerprint/biometric etc with the same specs as a modern phone at the same price

people who work in important facilities (such as nuclear reactors) are only allowed phones like that, to prevent sensitive information being captured

Graphene OS is the most SECURE phone OS you can get. But don't mistake anonymity for security. Graphene is NOT like Tails or Qubes/Whonix, where it automatically hides your identity behind tor. If you want to be anonymous (as possible), Never use your real credentials on Graphene OS, and user Orbot as a VPN for all traffic. Also, NEVER put in a sim card into a new Graphene Burner, as your phone will send its IMEI to the carrier and potentially deanonymize you. Only use wifi hot spots. Keep your personal phone with real name separate.

What models of phones come like this ?

I bought a used Pixel 6 specifically so I could install GraphineOS and the phone arrived yesterday. I was quite ready to just follow the instructions, install the OS and it would be Good To Go.

Except for one issue that I had not been aware about..... There are two models under the PIxel 6 that were made specifically for Verizon that are unable set OEM and such to On and as such, could not be rooted. As I found out, the phone could be Unlocked as far as using it on any carrier... A carrier unlock, but the OEM setting cannot be changed.

I thought I had been careful to make sure I would not have a surprise like this and get a phone that is not viable. At any rate do any of you have any suggestions? I was happy with the pixel 6 but is there is a better phone, let me know.
