If you are outside of Russia I don't really think Yandex being russian is of any concern.
Arguably it is even better because they wont cooperate with EU or USA authorities in no capacity.

private means hiding ur info from advertisers, obviously duckduck will snitch if theres a subpoena but thats not the point
