How to safely hide TOR through TAILS connection from my ISP?

I know many say that if in your country it is not illegal to use TOR, then you have nothing to worry about. But things change, recently with all the bullshit they are trying to pull off, like chat control and break of privacy in general, I want to make sure I stay on top of this and not raise any red flags, even if said red flags are not illegal.

Now I've been looking around tforum and I've found so many contradictory oppinions. Some say use a VPN in TAILS before connecting through TOR, some say to never do that. Some say use bridges, some say bridges can eventually compromise you.

I am conflicted here. I would like to hide it from my ISP. Do you not think it is a good idea for your ISP to not know you connect to TOR a few times a week, even if it is not illegal to do so? Connecting from a public wifi or not from home is not an option for me, as I connect too often for that to be reasonable.

What is your advice here?

I'm kind of a noob, but I've always thought that if you fear being taregted for using tor, a VPN would appear less suspicious than tor to anyone watching your connection. Of course assume that your VPN can be accessed by the government if they wanted to, but even if they did that all they would see is that you were connected to tor (they would have seen that from your ISP anyways). By using a VPN you're just moving some trust from your ISP to a VPN provider. There are good options for a VPN like mullvad but really you don't need to trust your VPN any more than your ISP, at least that is my understanding. Also pay with monero.

Yes you are right to be concerned

Use Linux because client side scanning being set by law on all mainstream operating systems would make tor pointless

Use a VPN all the time for everything. Do not trust the VPN. You are just making it normal. VPN traffic is probably more than 5% of traffic

Always torrent, it can be set to do it slowly, but always torrent both up and down because it can be very hard to identify packets by size when torrents are adding noise

Now use Tor however you want when ever you want and your ISP wont be able to tell. However you do need to ensure your meta data and fingerprint are not the same as your hardware so use some kind of VM. Whonix, Qubes, etc.

Flash your router with custom firmware and deploy your own VPN endpoint using VLESS + REALITY + XTLS-RPRX-VISION. Always host it on an offshore server
