Recenty got a 2017 imac with intel processor. I have had a smaller laptop before with tails OS, but never used anything else and am wondering if ther are better ones out there to use. I have looke dinto KeepSecure and a few like that but dont really know the pros/cons when it comes to the opsec. I want something very secure, but not something that I will have to do tons of stuff everytime I boot up. If it takes a while to do and some trial and error following steps to intially get it working thats fine, I want security without worry.
If you would like to have something secure you should really avoid Apple hardware. Intel Mac devices are better than the new silicon ones, but should be avoided, from a privacy and security aspect and also from a compatibility one.
As stated in the /d/dnmbible:
If you are searching for a middle-ground or convenient-security, you will have to make sacrifices.
What I would do is sell that horrible Apple hardware, buy a laptop with no OS installed for cheap and use Tails on it.
As stated in the /d/dnmbible:
Do not use a mac, macbook or any other apple device because they can not always run Tails. This is probably not the case anymore, especially with the majority of Intel hardware, but it's still not recommendable.

Thats actually what I have now, although with the imac I have hardened the physical components of the apple hardware and understand its not the absolute best although i prefer a desktop setup versus a laptop. Just wondering software wise at this point, I appreciate the advice and info though
Use Tails.
