Looking For a New Laptop

Over the past month or so on the dn, I've been using some cheap laptop thats slower than the first thinkpad ever created. Is there any people willing to leave possible suggestions on a new laptop I should get to dedicated mainly to dn activities? I'm preferably going to run qubes and whonix on it so I think I would need a semi good laptop

Run tail's off a USB on a laptop, not a whonix VM, It will run better and better security

ill suggest getting a ryzen 5/7 cpu with atleast 4 cores, minimum of 16gb ram and storage minimum 512 gb.

Alright, will be sure to keep this in mind. Would you happen to know if any brands would come with linux installed brand new or would i have to install Ubuntu every time?

Lenovo sells laptops with Linux installed. You don't have to worry about everything being compatible that way.

/d/dnmbible has a list of decent laptops to run Tails. It will surely be a bit outdated, but you can get a good idea of the components and hardware.

As others suggested, Tails it's the best for new users and really straight forward.

Final tip, get the laptop lightly used with cash for some extra piece of mind and save on your purchase :)

Qubes is massive overkill for DNM activity.

Just use tails.
