Have old laptop running tails stick, new desktop setup with debian os kicksecure hardening, whonix vms. But now want a nicer laptop with minimum 16gb ram, 32 really to run qubes really well becvause thats the os I want to run. I was thinking thinkpad t480 i5 chip to save some money, replace ram and ssd upgrading both, replace wifi chip with atheros wifi chip even though using ethernet. Open to any ideas and additions and changes
16 ain't gonna cut it for Qubes, most of my peeps run 64GB for Qubes. 32GB should be okay too if you don't have too much open.
Look up the "Certified Hardware Qubes" listing. It's quite important to have matching hardware if you want Qubes to run well.
