Online Safety Act in the UK

I think that there's really only 2 paths to this.

1: People don't resist because they really want to play their favorite games and put their IDs in and we learn the hard way to not put IDs in online

2: People resist putting IDs in and companies using lobbyists, try to reverse the rules and laws to keep company profits

True but I think there's still some hope left in this tho. I've seen lots of YouTube videos of big creators speaking out about this. IDK how it's going to end up but I know it starts with taking action and talking about this.

I unfortunately have to agree with that statement. But the choice ultimately lies within us, we do decide how all of this heads towards.

That's completely true. We ourselves are in control, but even if you don't believe it, the world is in such bad shape, bro. People are only focused on their social media, posting where, when, and with whom they are, and 80% of it is smoke... if you start looking at some NPCs, bro.

America will be more resistant to it, but polls are showing 70-80% approval rates for the bill in the UK, so my faith in humanity realizing a trap when they see one is greatly diminished. I don't think it has anything to do with children honestly, just a way to find people and arrest them for anti-government opinions or actions online. I'm not saying there aren't problems with kids and tech now, but there simply isn't a good solution either. Kids can steal their parent's IDs or convince their parents to use their IDs easily. Just a means of controlling people and policing online spaces. Assuming these laws stay in place, they'll be able to use AI to automatically determine what is or isn't acceptable for their country to view because no IP protection will be enough for hard ID checks. I'm pretty ashamed in people with these laws passing, I thought we were smarter than this.

Unfortunately influencers are paid by Big Tech, the biggest beneficiaries of ID checks. In Brazil, because of an influencer named Felca, we got our own version of the ID law, which is very similar to the UK one, and most people are actually celebrating because "THINK OF THE CHILDREN".

Yeah I 100% agree with you because I have recently seen that people in the UK have been outraged by this and have signed a petition to get it erased (the government declined btw) but I think that does show that people aren't going to fall so easily to this, and I know in the US, people are now aware of the real truth now.

Yeah, I guess I have faith and the benefit of the doubt, but that also is true too. I really think it's about raising awareness and showing people the real truth and that's how we win. And ngl I like you too as a friend of course lol
