Tor browser spelling check option

I am wondering how the Tor browser handles the spelling check. Is it an offline tool or is it oneline?

The second one would mean that all you type is sent elsewhere and can be read by someone.

Tell me this isn't true, otherwise that would be a major threat.

Yes it is done locally.
